Omega 3 Fish Oil Suppliments

Anyone have positive effects from taking fish oil supplement?

Ive read of a ton of uses for fish oil. I just started taking it hoping to reduce depression and lose weight. Any one with experience taking it?
in response: I tried antidepressants and i do not like the side effects. I exercised for years, stopped, and gained wt that I can’t get rid of. Plus I cant get back into the swing of exercise again. In a rut. My doctor is useless. If anyone knows of a good antidepressant or something to help with low side effects (no wt gain) pls let me know.

I’ve been taking it and have not noticed any weight loss, but I don’t take it regularly. I also take green tea pills, chromium picolate (SP?) and was taking Hoodia. No real loss or changes. I did hear a doctor on tv saying that everyone, everyone should take a multi and a fish oil.

I have experienced weight loss by cutting back on beer (my vacation and de-stresser) and eating 1/2 a grapefruit every day, plus fresh lemon juice in my water.

As far as depression…talk to your doctor. I know everyone says that, but do it. Talk to him about weight loss too. If he says to change your diet..and nothing else, see another doctor. LOTS of folks have depression. LOTS. Your doctor has heard it many times and won’t think you are a nut for saying it. There are lots of meds for it, so you have options.
